The Blue Cross Blue Shield Tower is on the north end of Millennium Park along E. Randolph Street at the NE corner of Randolph and Columbus Drive, in Chicago, Illinois, United States of America. It is home to the headquarters of Health Care Service Corporation.
The building's address is 300 E. Randolph Street and is next to the Aon Center. Original plans to connect the two buildings via an underground pedway never came to fruition.
Architect James Goettsch of Goettsch Partners designed the building. The 33-story first phase was completed in 1997 under the firm name of Lohan Associates . The 24-story second phase started in 2007 and was completed in 2010.

The environments in which people live, work, learn, and play have a tremendous impact on their physical, behavioral and mental health. The greatest health challenges in communities today are complex and interconnected. Medical services, while vitally important, are only one factor in improving the health of a community. Also vital are understanding and addressing the social and economic determinants of health, such as economic status, educational attainment, race, gender and neighborhood characteristics. Therefore, improving the health of a community requires a holistic view and coordinated approach to community development that supports healthy behaviors and outcomes.

CHICAGO, IL The Blue Cross Blue Shield Association announced today that Tim Vines, president and chief executive officer of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama, has been elected chair of the BCBSA Board of Directors.
As chair, Vines will assume leadership of the governing body that provides strategic guidance and oversight for BCBSA, a national federation of 35 independent, community-based and locally operated Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies that collectively provide health care coverage for one in three Americans.
Im grateful for the opportunity to serve as chair of the BCBSA Board. I look forward to partnering with my colleagues as we continue the Associations progress of providing all Americans access to quality, affordable health care, said Vines.
A 27-year Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama veteran, Vines was appointed president and CEO in 2018. Hes also served in various leadership roles including, president and chief operating officer chief administrative officer senior vice president, business operations and senior vice president, health management. He serves on the boards of Auburn University, Samford University, Regions Financial Corporation and the Business Council of Alabama.
Vines assumes the chair role from David L. Holmberg, president and CEO of Highmark Health, who was elected in 2019.
